 Intravenous Vitamin C

High Dose Intravenous Vitamin C

 

The benefits of High Dose Intravenous Vitamin C are widely known in a variety of conditions.
It has known Antiviral, Anti inflammatory, Antibacterial, and Antifungal properties.

While it is acknowledged that intravenous Vitamin C is not "Standard Medicine" nor is it considered a form of "evidenced based medicine", it is widely used as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of many of the chronic degenerative diseases including cancer.


Treatment can only commence after full consultation, blood tests,and any other test Dr Stewart may deem appropriate.

Treatments are administered by our fully trained and qualified IV Nurse under the direct supervision of a licensed medical practitioner at Dr Stewarts Clinic.


Risks or Side effects are rare, however as with all IV procedures (inc Saline) there sometimes can be the following:

mild pain or irritation at the cannula site swelling, inflammation, or infection at the site, muscle cramps, unusual weakness, headache, nausea, drowsiness. Air embolism have been cited as a possible complication but our professional procedures and monitoring ensure that this very rare complication does not occur. All patients are monitored during treatments.
 

Conditions such as Congestive cardiac failure, Renal Compromise, Oedema, Ascites etc that could be adversely affected by fluid or sodium overload are monitored closely.  As with any IV infusion , bruising can occur at the cannula site.
 

Patients with the rare inherited disorder G6PD Deficiency cannot be treated with High Dose IV Vitamin C above 25 grams(25,000 mgs). All patients who require High Dose Vitamin C above this level are tested beforehand for this rare condition at Dr Stewarts Clinic.

A typical intravenous Vitamin C treatment can go from 25 grams to 125 grams.
Magnesium Chloride 1000 mgs
Sodium Bicarbonate  8.4% by 10mls.
0.45% Sodium Chloride by 500ml as carrier Solution.

The following nutrients may be added depending on condition being treated:
Vitamin B complex
Vitamin B 12
Vitamin B6
Pantothenic Acid
Folic Acid
Other nutrients available on request.
